Uses: This product is ultraviolet absorbent with high molecular weight, and has outstanding light stability 

for polymers. This product is widely used in food and drugs to allow to be used with other light stabilities 

or antioxidants. It is mainly used in polyester, polycarbonate, etc. It is a high molecular weight ultraviolet 

light absorber (UVA) of the hydroxyl phenyl benzotriazole class, imparting outstanding light stability to poly-

mers usually processed at high temperatures such as polycarbonate, polyesters, polyacetal, polyamides, 

polyphenylene sulfide, polyphenylene oxide, aromatic copolymers, thermoplastic polyurethane and polyur-

ethane fibers, where loss of UVA is not tolerated as well as for polyvinylchloride, styrene homo- and copoly-

mers. Applications include molded articles, films, sheets and fibers.UV 234 has world wide Food Contact 

Approvals in most polymers and is especially suitable in packaging applications for food, consumer care 

products and pharmaceuticals.
